Don’t Post More, Post Smarter.

Here’s a super simple weekly guide to get you started,

If you work in the fitness industry, you’ve probably had the thought a few times: “I know I should post… I just don’t know what.”

Between coaching clients, running sessions, and actually training yourself, social media often becomes an afterthought. The last thing you probably want to do after a full day of coaching, socialising, concentrating, check-ins and what not is sit and spend time doing some social media posts.

The good news? You don’t need to post every day or reinvent the wheel to grow online. You just need a simple plan.

In this guide, I’ll break down what to post - without overthinking it - to get you out of your rut and to get you enjoying posting content again.

Why Posting Workouts Only Isn’t Enough

Posting workouts is easy. You’re already in the gym, your phone is there, job done. But if all you post is exercises, people don’t really learn:

  • Who you help

  • What makes you different

  • Why they should trust you

Great fitness content shows more than what you do — it shows how you think, who you help, and what results you get.

The 5 Content Pillars Every Fitness Brand Needs

To keep things simple, split your content into a few main topics (or “content buckets”). Everything you post should fit into one of these.

  • 1. Education

    • Share tips, advice, or common mistakes. This builds trust and shows expertise.

  • 2. Training / Performance

    • Workouts, drills, sessions, and how you coach. This is where your day-to-day content lives.

  • 3. Lifestyle / Personality

    • Your routine, your values, behind-the-scenes moments. This helps people connect with you as a human.

  • 4. Social Proof

    • Client wins, testimonials, progress stories. Let your results do the talking.

  • 5. Promotion

    • Your services, offers, availability. This doesn’t need to be pushy — just clear.

You don’t need to use all five every week, but rotating through them keeps your content balanced.

A Simple Weekly Posting Example

Here’s a basic structure you can repeat every week:

  • Monday: Educational post

  • Tuesday: Training or workout content

  • Wednesday: Lifestyle or personal post

  • Thursday: Client result or testimonial

  • Friday: Soft promotion or reminder of your services

If five posts feels like too much, start with three. Consistency matters more than volume.

5 Quick Post Ideas You Can Create in Under 10 Minutes

  • Share one mistake you see people make in the gym

  • Film part of your warm-up and explain why you do it

  • Answer a question a client asked you this week

  • Post a short client win or shout-out

  • Share one thing you wish you knew when you started training

Simple content like this often performs better than over-edited posts.

You don’t need to post everything. You don’t need perfect lighting. You don’t need to go viral. You just need a plan that makes posting easier.
